Ways to actually stop procrastination?
Has anyone here ever gone from being a procrastinator to being a hard worker? Right now I’m in this bad habit of doing everything last minute, and I know I’m capable of doing far better work…it’s just that I am always too lethargic to start it earlier. I mean, I definitely do enough to get by, and I get mostly A’s at school in a really tough program, but I want to be the best around and being a harder worker would get me there.
So, how do you effectively stop procrastinating, if it’s a habit you’ve had all your life?
I am extremely intelligent (my IQ is in the 99th percentile), and while people usually regard that trait as being beneficial, it has in fact been a curse. I never learned to work hard because I never had to. Now I want to pursue a PhD in either neuroscience or human molecular genetics, and if I am to do any amazing research, I’m going to have to learn how to work hard.
