How can I stop my procrastination?

Every day when I get home from school, I tell myself that I’m going to get my homework done early, but I always end up putting it off. I end up doing in at the last minute and going to be late. Even right now I’m supposed to be doing my work. How can I stop this?

look, as a professional procrastinator and as a senior in high school, here’s my advice.

It honestly doesn’t matter that you procrastinate freshman, sophomore, or junior year. Sure its nice to have "good habits." But honestly, the only time in high school that procrastination will bite you in the ass is senior year doing college apps. Also senior year is just tremendously difficult and getting shyt done on time really helps.

But honestly, I do not regret procrastinating one bit from 9th to 11th grade. I only regret not doing my college appps over the summer. Look at it this way: why stress out over something so insignificant? Enjoy yourself, cruise right along. If you do all your hw sunday night at midnight, isn’t it great how you got to enjoy, friday saturday, and most of sunday? Rather than the opposite, which is you spread out your homework and you can’t even enjoy a single day during the weekend

Only you can teach self discipline to yourself. You know what needs to be done, you know it is going to be rough if you wait, so just do it. That is it, do what you need to do first then play later.

tell someone to help you. they can turn off the TV and computer when you are tempted. It might help.

My younger brother had this problem. This is how we fixed it:
1) While he was in school he would make a list of what his home work for each class was.

2) As soon as he got home he would get the list out of his bag and put it on the table where he normally sits down to do his home work.

3) We set up an alarm clock for a specific time (giving him about 30-45 minutes after he came home from school to use the bathroom change his clothes and eat something really quick)

4) Make sure this alarm clock has the MOST unpleasant sound possible, so that there is no way for you to ignore it. As soon as the alarm goes off you know it’s time to do your home work.

5) GO AND ACTUALLY DO IT!!!!!
