I have the same problem! Its 11:00 here and I am working on a science enrichment project due tomorrow!
I have been working on making lists of everything I need to do and then setting a time to complete my list. I think in time we will both outgrow our bad habits!
~ Good luck ~

Procrastination is its own reward!
Why would you want to change?

Instead of thinking about what it is you need/have to do,just do it.Just find a starting point and start, and don’t stop until you are finished or you need nourishment,or rest.

organization!! it really depends on what reminds you to do things. if you prefer having a large agenda that you list everything to do, do that. or if you like being reminded by scattered notes, post-it notes are good. there isn’t much space on them so that you can state a clear, concise reminder and scatter the notes wherever you need. The latter suggestion tends to work for me. You can also pretend that the assignment that you need to finish is due like the next day. Whatever works. hope this helps you with procrastinating

procrastination for some people or most people- is not good. But for some people, procrastination actually works for them. So why dun u just take this as ur ’specialty’! i tell u, i procrastinate all the time but the results i get are always sumthing to be proud of! u know, sometimes last minute’s work is the best. So i suggest dont try to stop procrastinating if u cant but take it as a specialty and remember, the best result comes from the best effort no matter when u do or how u do! so procrastinate all u want but once u do the tasks, give ur best efforts and trust me IT’LL PAY OFF and then procrastinate may sounds like fun!! =)

I used to have the same problem. What you need to do is concentrate. Do something that helps you calm down before starting whatever you need to do. Practice yoga, listen to music, dance, whatever. Also, as soon as you get the assignment or you realize you need to do something, buy a planner book (they don’t cost a lot, you can get them at Target or Staples) and plan the dates and times you will work on the project. Plan other events around those set times. If there is something short-notice, like an impromptu party or a family emergency, as soon as you find out reschedule the times for a couple hours earlier or a couple hours later. Some nights you may need to be up late, but if the project is important you should keep reminding yourself that it will all work out in the end.

Try to manage your time set a schedule and try to stick to it. Reward yourself for sticking to things. Try not to get distracted. if you feel overwhelmed try to break down your projects into small steps.

Create a short list of tasks that are absolutely essential for you to do each day…and do them! I don’t mean some huge list with 50 things on it because you will waste all of your time on making the list and updating it. Just the 3-5 things that absolutely need to get done.
Something that helps me is to remove distractions. Don’t watch TV, listen to music or answer the phone when you are in the middle of a task. These things will only distract you and keep you from finishing.
Work in power blocks. Work hard and not distracted for 45 minutes and then reward yourself with a 15 minute break. This will make you more productive. And for goodness sakes, stop surfing the web.
