What is a good cure for procrastination?
I always seem to put off doing work until the last minute. I really want to do my uni work to a high standard but always seem to have an excuse for not doing it…"Ooh i’ll do it tomorrow!"
Or more often than not, i’ll go onto a very addictive site called Yahoo Answers…lol!
Also, i always feel the need to watch tv etc…
Argh!

Wish I knew…I guess if you have nothing else to do (get rid of or lock up tv and computer) then you have to do your work to keep you from dying of boredom =)

look around your room or house and look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you are happy where you are in life, if you’re not then you know you have to do something about it. I can’t tell you how to begin since finding the way to start is the hardest part but i suggest to keep going once you find a way to build that momentum.

Hey I am the same way when it comes to cleaning and homework. I always just tell myself the personal reward of finsihing it. I know I can relax more and feel better about myself when I finish my duties. Good Luck

Remind yourself time always passes faster than you expected, and when you finally decide to work,it’s already too late.I found that out the hard way…I still have a few hours to redeem myself, which I’m wasting here.Just gather up your willpower and tell yourself "Hey!Stop it."
Wish me luck for my exams later!

I have the same recurring problem…but really, the only solution I have is
Get off the computer and do something you’re supposed to do! lol it’s hard but when you do it once, you’ll feel like you accomplished something, and this positive reinforcement will make you want to get something done again, until the point that you thrive off of doing things productive. I’ve done this before but it always backfires after a few weeks somehow…lol…:P

I don’t know why you are addicted to tv at the moment, it’s not as if Doctor Who is on:(((
I suppose you’re watching all those dumb reality shows:(
JUST DO IT…….(erm, I didn’t copy the Nike advert, honest:)

You probably have a few common go to excuse for why you aren’t doing what you should be. I.E. "I’m free all tomorrow, I’ll do it then". Identify this common go to excuse and learn to recognize it. Everytime you use it, force yourself to do the thing you were trying to put off. Sort of like a punishment for procrastinating. This way you learn stop procrastinating while at the same time you get the things done that you needed to get done.
