Nope, you spelled it correctly.
There is really no one key.
There are things that work for some people though.
I overcame procrastination by creating lists of every step that needed done. I found it fun to write things down. For a research project I would put.
Develop an idea
Research
Find the rebuttle
Reasearch
Write the thesis
Research
etc..
I would always begin with a step that I had completed beforehand so I could feel slightly accomplished. I would then reward myself for every task I finished.
I would eat a brownie for the fifth task, listen to my favorite song for the second, and for the final task I would buy a new magazine or book =)
It always made me feel free to be working because I knew soon I'd be finished.
I find that a calendar organizer helps me stay planned and ready to go, and that mapping my hours (assinging each task to a specific hour) helped me find time to do what I do while procrastinating AFTER I finish my tasks.

I know it's a cliche, but like Nike says:

"Just do it".

Don't even give yourself time to think about what it is you need to do, just get up and do it. Works for me! :o)
